Anti-Flag’s forthcoming Australian tour has been bolstered by the confirmation that Californian punk-rockers Jackson United will join the bill at all Australian shows.

Last here in May, supporting the release of their sophomore record Harmony & Dissidence, Jackson United thrilled fans in Melbourne, Brisbane and Sydney with their explosive live performances.

This time around fans across the nation will have an opportunity to witness the boys in action as they take to stages in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney.

Featuring Foo Fighters’ and Me First and the Gimme Gimmes’ guitarist Chris Shiflett and Joe Kid from the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Jackson United have cultivated a strong fan base during their five years together.

Anti-Flag return to Australia in support of their politically charged release The Bright Lights of America – their most comprehensive and revered work to date. Jackson United join the already announced support of A Death In The Family, who will kick off proceedings each night.

The Contemporary Music Touring Program aims to give all Australians, wherever they live, better access to some of the country’s best live contemporary music.

For an exclusive audience of teachers and students, all Basics High School shows are in support of national counselling organisation Lifeline and are free; however a gold coin donation upon entry is encouraged to help this invaluable support service. Lifeline is a national 24 hour, seven day a week counselling hotline and is staffed by teams of dedicated volunteers.

The Basics are doing their best to ensure that no-one misses out on the chance to party. Located over 1,750 kms from Darwin, Haast’s Bluff, Papunya and Mount Liebig are remote Aboriginal communities located on Aboriginal land where permits are required to visit.

The Basics are proud to announce that local Haast’s Bluff act The Sunshine Reggae Band will support them throughout the rural communities, before taking the band on to support them in Darwin where The Sunshine Reggae Band will play their first-ever Darwin show.

Following the overwhelming success of the inaugural reggae festival Raggamuffin, fans will be delighted to hear it’s happening all over again with Raggamuffin 2009 announced today. 

Ziggy Marley, Eddy Grant, Stephen Marley, Shaggy, Arrested Development, Inner Circle and Bonjah will perform at six events nationally and one in New Zealand, kicking off on January 24 in Perth.

Raggamuffin played to more than 70,000 ecstatic fans through February this year, emphatically proving that reggae is alive and well!
