Triple J Hottest 100 Results

Congratulations to Augie March for getting the number 1 spot on 2007’s Hottest 100 with their song One Crowded Hour. Beaten at the line were Eskimo Joe who came in at number 2 with Black Fingernails, Red Wine, Hilltop Hoods with The Hard Road at number 3, The Killers with When You Were Young at number 4 and The Scissor Sisters with I Don’t Feel Like Dancing at number 5.
Perth was represented with 7 entries:
2. Eskimo Joe - Black Fingernails, Red Wine
11. Little Birdy - Come On Come On
12. John Butler Trio - Funky Tonight
36. Bob Evans - Nowhere Without You
37. Bob Evans - Don’t You Think It’s Time
45. Karnivool - Roquefort
95. Eskimo Joe - New York
Some things to note -
Hilltop Hoods had 5 entries just short of Wolfmother’s record 6 entries in 2006’s Hottest 100 (Wolfmother had another 2 entries this year with 2 B-Sides).
The Living End have now had at least 1 song in the Hottest 100 for 11 years in a row. The only band to do so.
2007 was only the second year in Triple J Hottest 100 history to have the top 3 songs all by Australian artists.
Surprisingly, for me anyway, The Sleepy Jackson did not make the list although their album (Personality) was critically praised throughout 2006 but Panic! At The Disco did make the list.
The full Hottest 100 list can be found on the Triple J Website.
